Getting Started with Promail: Set Up Professional Email in 30 Minutes

Setting up professional email for your business does not need to be complicated. In this guide we walk you through every step: adding your domain, updating your DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC), creating your first mailbox, and connecting it to your favourite email client. ## 1. Add Your Domain Log in to your Promail dashboard and navigate to Domains > Add Domain. Enter your domain name and click Add. ## 2. Update DNS Records Promail will show you the exact DNS records you need to add at your domain registrar: - **MX record** pointing to promail.maxnate.com - **TXT record** for SPF - Three **CNAME records** for DKIM DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to propagate, though most registrars apply changes within minutes. ## 3. Create a Mailbox Once your domain shows as Active, go to Mailboxes > New Mailbox. Choose a local part (e.g. "james" for james@yourdomain.com), set a strong password, and click Create. ## 4. Connect Your Email Client Use these settings in any IMAP-compatible client: - **IMAP server**: promail.maxnate.com (port 993, SSL) - **SMTP server**: promail.maxnate.com (port 587, STARTTLS) - **Username**: your full email address - **Password**: your mailbox password That is it — you are live with professional email on your own domain.
